“Dance every performance as if it were your last.” – Erik Bruhn. In 2008, my dance was recognized by none other than most acclaimed dancing maestro Shiamak Davar and he awarded me ‘Best Dancer’ award in Miss Mumbai. Yes, I look like a kid in those pics and that skirt was in fashion then 
He was so humble that he called me personally to chat with him one on one in his office in Mumbai. I was so nervous and speechless because I could not believe that I was getting a chance to stand next to him.
Finally I congregated the courage to ask him on why he thought I deserved the award. He laughed and said that out of all dancers in the room, my energy was unbeatable and at a different level which instantly got his eyes stuck on my moves. He added that when I danced, it was with my whole heart and soul.
All I did was BLUSHED. Finally after exact 10 years, I get back to Shiamak’s troupe in international waters Shiamak Canada. Had my first practice session with one of the best instructors Rohan D’silva and cannot wait to groove more and be a part of the troupe. Hope to see you soon Shiamak
